The Turner Free Library Teen Film Club is pleased to announce the screening of their mini-series Tempus. Part adventure, part fantasy, this series follows two opposing groups as they struggle to locate pieces of a time machine in order to gain control over all of time. The series spans two short seasons - a podcast (season 1) and a six episode live action series (season two).
Turner Free Library’s Teen Film Club started in September 2019. Teens learned how to write scripts, use professional film equipment, and work together as a film crew. The group was forced to pivot their original concept in March 2020 due to Covid and has been constantly adapting as circumstances change. “Tempus has been a labor of love. This group of teens has become skilled in storytelling, filmmaking, problem solving, and teamwork over the past two years. I’m incredibly proud of these teens, and I think you’re going to be impressed with what they’ve accomplished,” says Teen Librarian Melissa Bennett.
Tempus: The Mini-Series will screen in person in the Turner Free Library’s Shurtleff Room on Saturday, October 30 from 11 AM - 1 PM. All are welcome.
Teen Film Club was made possible through a generous grant from the Library Initiative for Teens and Tweens as well as support from the Friends of the Turner Free Library. After the screening, the Teen Film Club will be accepting new members as they work on a new project. Interested teens must be in grades 7-12 to join. The Club meets on Saturdays from 11 AM - 2 PM.
